Ten Things I Hate About You

I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you’re not around, and the fact that you didn’t call. But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

Movies and Series I Can’t Wait to See This Year

1. One Tree Hill Season 9 (January 2012)

The final season of my fave series will air this January. Chad Michael Murray will have a guest appearance in Episode 7 (according to CW official website).Though it is confirmed that Peyton won’t be back, I’m still hoping that she, Karen, Whitey, and the rest of the characters that I learned to love will have a cameo appearance. I think that will be enough for me. I wish that the final episode will be as awesome and nostalgic as Seasons 4,6, and 8 finales.

2. American Reunion (April 2012)

The return of the original American Pie cast from class 1999. They are back in East Great Falls for their high school reunion.

I’m looking forward to see the characters growth (if they ever grow up). And,of course, the hilarious, not-so-wholesome jokes. And, yeah, the Stifmeister.

3. The Hunger Games (March 2012)

Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister’s place for the latest match. - IMDB

This is based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The trailer also looks promising.

4. The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey (December 2012)

an upcoming two-part epic fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson. It is a film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and a prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

According to a press release from Warner Bros. Pictures:

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

I’ll watch this just because I love The Lord of the Rings trilogy. And I can’t wait to see the characters on big screen again.
5. Bokura Ga Ita / We Were There (March/April 2012)

Based on the manga of the same name. It stars Ikuta Toma as Motoharu Yano and Yuriko Yoshitaka as Nanami Takahashi.
Nanami Takahashi, a 15 year old high school student, falls in love with and begins dating the most popular guy in school, Motoharu Yano. However, their relationship is not easily maintainable. Yano’s past, as well as the complex emotions they bring up, make it difficult to be completely honest about how he feels. Caught in the middle are Yuri Yamamoto, the younger sister of Yano’s now dead ex-girlfriend, and Masafumi Takeuchi, Yano’s best friend. Yuri’s past with Yano goes deeper than one might suspect and her feelings run deeper than she portrays in public. Takeuchi cherishes Yano’s friendship, but at the same time, he may lose it for someone dear to him. Takahashi must search deep inside herself and find her true feelings for Yano while be able to trust and accept Yano’s feelings for her as well, deciding if Yano is indeed the one for her or if someone else can provide better solace. Along the way Takahashi will get tips from her love infatuated friends, Mizu and Taka.

I look forward to this because the story seems interesting. And,well, it’s Ikuta Toma. ‘Nuff said.

6. Rurouni Kenshin Live Action (August 2012)

I am really, really excited to see this. The trailer looks epic. I just hope the movie will live up to it because Samurai X is one of my favorite anime, and Kenshin is the love of my life. Hahaha. So I hope they won’t ruin it.
And, can I just say that Sato Takeru (the actor playing Kenshin) looks perfect for the part? I read in tokyohive that the mangaka personally chose him for the role (good choice there!)  Having seen some of his works, I can say that this boy/man has acting chops.
7. Brave

Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse. (taken from imdb)

I’ve seen the trailer, and it looks awesome. I’m excited to see Princess Merida’s adventures. And her hair. I don’t know, but I’m loving her red curls.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about taking chances. And how it’s really just about overcoming your fears. Because the truth is, every time you take a big risk in your life, no matter how it ends up, you’re always glad you took it.
